Graded Exercise in Eating Disorder Recovery

Exercising and moving is an important part of a nourishing and fully lived life. So I believe that forming a healthy relationship with this is as much part of recovery as is forming a healthy relationship with food.

I use my background in fitness, sports and also rehab exercise to support a graded approach back into exercise.

You may be someone for whom sport or exercise was part of your life pre eating disorder and you want to get back to it without triggering relapse.

Or perhaps your relationship with exercise has always been a bit complicated or disordered and you are looking for new ways to move that support your health and wellbeing.

Wherever you’re starting from we can set some goals and intentions and find our way forward from there.

If you are significantly underweight we may need to place this particular aspect of recovery on hold until it is medically safe for you to do so, but we can talk about when it might be appropriate for you to set some goals and how that might be approached.

HOW SESSIONS WORK

We can either meet in person or online.

Our sessions may or may not involve ‘actual exercise’, this depends on where you are at or what you may be needing in terms of guidance and supervision. Often our communication together is more online via zoom and email or text.

With this service there is more of an element of planning and setting goals forward so I do not work on a session by session basis. Instead we will set a 6-12 week plan of working together which we can agree together.

FEES & LOCATION

Pre-session zoom call (30 mins): No charge
